Well this is the second version of this song during this festival and the 3 of us have been working on it on and off for a week or 2.
It's my first colab outside of the shed so it's been a learning curve - thanks for the colab 64/ORH - really enjoyed it!!!

Absolutely awesome collaboration!!!!! I'd be throwing flowers....if I had flowers to throw. Sounds great Burtog, nicely corralled, spectacular guitars64 (yea I did it, I reversed your name!), inspiring vocal. Perhaps a new super group on the horizon?

I was lucky enough to hear this when I was in Glasgow with ORH. It's absolutely stellar. Everything from all of you is right on the money. Always loved the original, and it's not a song anyone could take on lightly. In fact, most people couldn't take it on. You guys f*cking nailed it though.

Nice job on the mix, Burtog. The vocals sound especially good. You got the level just right. I always have trouble mixing the vocals because I mix with headphones and get a nice balance between the vocals and the music, then I play it through speakers and find that the vocals are too loud. I find it difficult to get the level of the vocals to sound right through speakers and through headphones. But you've done it perfectly.
I love the bass in this. And oldrottenhead did a great job on the vocals. I'm really pleased with how this turned out.

Very well-mixed and the performances really are fab. Just listening on my lousy laptop speakers, and I can hear every detail. Nice collab, fellas!

This took some mixing - almost got out of my depth really, if you count stereo tracks as 2 there is a total of 28 tracks and a double tracked drum line. I also double tracked the vocal one with full pan either side with delay and the other centred with no delay blended in. I also used the 'Brighten' master effect to lift the track. I've been following an EQ guide on this site somewhere for Bass Vox and guitars and it definately helps the mix but its a bit of trial and effort.

I was never really into The Smiths, and am only familiar with their big songs like this which I do like.
You certainly didn't go for the easy option here, must have been a bugger to arrange and mix to a standard that stood up to the original but you truly have created something special here.
I guess you can never truly match the intro guitar sound of the original, but it ain't far off and every part of the song is performed to perfection.

I haven't much to add, playing, singing, recording, production are all spot on. Nice feel to it and it is a bloody fine bass line.
