John (Lurker) and I got together for the first time in a dog's age to practice. A couple new songs appeared, so I thought I would post something for the first time in yet another dog's age.
Here's a first or second pass through "Willin,'" supposedly the song that got Lowell George booted out of the Mothers of Invention (one of the stories anyway). If this intro sounds a tad wonky, I tried to do it in standard tuning as opposed to the original open-G.
Peace.

Willin'
I been warped by the rain, driven by the snow
I'm drunk and dirty don't ya know, and I'm still, willin'
Out on the road late at night, Seen my pretty Alice in every head light
Alice, Dallas Alice
I've been from Tuscon to Tucumcari
Tehachapi to Tonapah
Driven every kind of rig that's ever been made
Driven the back roads so I wouldn't get weighed
And if you give me: weed, whites, and wine
And you show me a sign
I'll be willin', to be movin'
I've been kicked by the wind, robbed by the sleet
Had my head stoved in, but I'm still on my feet and I'm still... willin'
Now I smuggled some smokes and folks from Mexico
Baked by the sun, every time I go to Mexico, and I'm still
And I been from Tuscon to Tucumcari
Tehachapi to Tonapah
Driven every kind of rig that's ever been made
Driven the back roads so I wouldn't get weighed
And if you give me: weed, whites, and wine
And you show me a sign
I'll be willin', to be movin

What a beauty of a song...just superb...love your vocal...excellent....pie pod
Just the biz, those vox are just on the money, this just rings so many bells for me, the back roads, the weighbridge and the rigs, fantastic!!!
Excellent. I didn't think I'd recognize the song based on the title. But, to my surprise, I do recognize it. I'm just not sure whose version I've heard before. I don't think it's Little Feat's. It might be Linda Ronstadt's, but I had a listen on YouTube and it's not quite what I remember. I listened to a bunch of other versions on YouTube and none of them sounded quite like what I remember. So I'm at a loss as to whose version I've heard before.
Anyway, it's a great song and you guys have done an excellent cover of it.
Great song Blooby. Reminded me of when I drove big truck. It was during my driving that I picked up a Micro BR, Les Paul Special II, and a squire p bass from a guitar center in Atlanta. I've been to the places you name....just brings back alot of memories :) Driving the back roads to avoid the scales. lol I ran three log books until everything went computerized and synced with the GPS.
Love it!
Pure class, thanks guys :)
Oh nice cover guys , & yes i love weed

Little Feat actually put it on their eponymous album and then released another version again on
Sailin' Shoes, the latter being the more popular. Maybe you heard the first version, which was more jaunty.
Thank you, all, very much for the positive commentary and all the good vibes.

I've been on a Little Feat kick lately, so I had to hear your version of this one. You guys did a great job.
OTD!
Not a song I was familiar with, but your performance is totally believable.
