Couldn`t find the original thread so don`t know if there is an answer. I really noticed tonight this site is really slow.
I click on other sites and they are up to speed.
Also i meant to say for a long time that when i listen to a song on my phone, half the time the song will start again randomly at the 2:12 minute mark for some reason. It won`t let you listen to the whole song. No biggie but just wondering if you knew or knew why.

I've noticed the same. And the 2:12 issue only happens on my iPad, not on the computer or my android phone

I also have the same problem with my iPod and iPad about the song stopping and restarting'I think in a previous thread speed demon explained it to me but can't remember the thread and yes it only seems to be apple products

Yes, I noticed the slowness too. It was especially bad last night. I believe it's just our web hosting provider, so there's nothing I can do about it. It will probably improve in the next day or two. If it doesn't, maybe Flash Harry could contact them again to get their attention so they'll fix it.
As for the 2:12 issue, it sounds like it only happens on Apple products, so I assume it's a bug in their implementation of HTML5 audio. Has it always happened with the HTML5 player, or did it just start happening recently? Maybe it's from a recent Apple update and will get fixed in a future update. Does it happen in all web browsers or just Safari?
It definitely doesn't happen with my MacBook Pro using Safari 6. I may have heard it on the iPhone in mobileSafari (not sure), but I rarely listen from there.

Yes it has always happened for me on my phone from the beginning. Everything else is good.
The site is still slow today too.
Weird thing is .."Birdland" played all the way through ..... I noticed the file was only just over 4mb ... could it be a buffer limit or something maybe?

Maybe. But that buffer would be in the browser or the O/S, not at Songcrafters. If you can find a song that consistently restarts at 2:12, try playing the same song in another browser. Then you'll know if it's the browser or the O/S. Also, post the link to the song here so I can try it in a few Linux browsers that use webkit (the same layout engine used by Safari).

NOW it played all the way through for me too, but I could have sworn it didn't do that earlier today ??? Maybe I'm getting senile ..... I'll look for others as well

Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.
Yes, that occasionally happens. When it does, the server sends me an email to notify me that there has been a problem with the database. It happens maybe a few times per week. I think it's just from too much traffic on the server, so the database can't respond quick enough and times out. The server we're on also has other Bluehost customers, so it's not necessarily our site that's causing the traffic burden. It could be one or more other Bluehost customers with all the traffic. Anyway, all we can do is grin and bear it. Luckily, it never lasts very long so it hasn't been a big problem. When it happens, just wait a little while and try again. Normally, it should be working again within 15 minutes or so.

For a while now on my laptop, my adobe crashes sometimes when i listen on a jukebox and even with the last couple flashplayer updates.
i changed my avatar a week ago i think now but when i look on my iphone, my old avatar is still on
there. Also when i checked comments on my phone today, everything on the homepage was totally
different than on my laptop homepage. I`m mainly talking the comments on the right side because that is all
that really moves.
Oh and damnit i still can`t listen to full songs on my phone!! I know,i know no worries :)
It's just my end, I know, but the internet as a whole seems very slow lately. I can rarely stream audio or video from a number of sites, here, YT, Spotify etc... :(

There have been a few things going off on the tinterwebthingy over the last few days, there's been a bit of a time service attack, the DNS service of our hosting company has had a flake and was not responding that well.
If you change your avatar, flush your web cache and the new avatar will appear. This isn't related to slow web response.
dont spill beer on your pc, laptop or tablet, it doesn't slow down yer internet, but it is a terrible waste of beer.

I can't access to SC or at least it takes very long time. Does anyone else faced this problem during last couple days? I use Google Chrome browser.
Same here Redler. Been v slow for a couple of days alright.
We've also noticed the slowdown (and connection issues) - we're looking into it.
Apparently there was some work going on, on our server. It seems to be back to it's normal speed.
