It's been ages since I submitted a festival track, one of my favourite from the late 70's - released in Germany in 1978 and the UK in 1981. Maybe it's stretching the festivals rules a bit, but I'm sticking with the original release date.
I'm not singing it German though if anyone fancies a stab I can put the track up minus the vox.
All done on a Korg R3, except the vocal obviously which was recorded using a Rode NT1a, and mixed in Reaper.
Fabulous. I love the synth sounds. Vocals are quite good too. I don't know the original but this certainly has that Kraftwerk sound.
at last i got a sneak preview of this on my mobile phone ages ago.
well worth the wait.
das ist gut.
I was excited even before I pressed the play button!
Absolutely fantastic, Mike. The synths are spot on - song and period authentic, and you nail the vocal too. This was such an influential song on me - it made me aware of Kraftwerk and then I started looking back at their older stuff. What a brilliant and inspired cover. Thanks - made my morning :-)
Ditto!
I was seriously considering covering this... for the unplugged fest... I love the song, and lately I have been listening to a lot of synth pop. I am not sure if it came from someone in this site, or if I discovered it myself, but last week I lost (won!) 2 hours of my life listening to the fun-tastic documentary from BBC - Synth Brittania. Really recommend!

Count me among the excited... 8)
I really got into Kraftwerk rather late...about five years ago, when I picked up 'Computer World'. Needless to say, I got 'The Man-Machine' soon thereafter. :)
You captured the vibe on this one perfectly. Loved the synth parts, and a perfect vocal delivery.
I'm really not into covers, but hearing "Das Modell" in English was a very interesting experience. You captured the mood very well. I've always loved the original version, but this one is really nice too.

Steffen
Fantastisch ! Wunderbar ! Great cover of a classic. Brilliant synth and a cracking vocal. I remember dancing to this in the 70's at a 'disco' I used to go to - Wigan nightlife must have been very avant garde !
One of my top 10 synth songs - love it!
Lovely job. Perfect snare sound.
to say as a friend of us would if he spoke another language :

I copied and pasted that into Google Translate and got something a bit different than I expected. :D :D :D
Man, oh man, what a song!
You have certainly mastered the synh sounds. Impossible to listen and not tap my feet to the beat.
Well done!
Authentic. Superb. 8)

Wow nice one flash Harry ,I always loved this song,it's amazing how many guitar based artists Kraftwerk had an influence on as well as keyboard ones.
A well produced song my friend.
really like this, well done with the vocals too!
i can't tell you how amazed i am by this! the original is hotwired into my brain and this syncs with it exactly! just genius.
