OK ... this is rather quick and dirty ... should have redone the main vox etc etc .... ;D
Can't have a 70s fest without Queen tho :D :D .
Fat Bottomed Girls
w/m:May
Geir: Guitars, bass, main and 5 or 6 harmony vocals
MBR80 used to record/master and for drums.
This is excellent. Covering a Queen song with harmonies is particularly tricky considering how lush and layered they were, but yours sound bloody brilliant here.
Love the pause at end too before it all bursts back to life.
Fabulous! Those harmonies are great, as is the guitar and everything else.
I was just looking at the Wikipedia page for Fat Bottomed Girls (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fat_Bottomed_Girls) and noticed that it was originally done in Drop D tuning. Did you use Drop D too?
quick n dirty that's the best way ;D ;D ;)
Great rockin' version Geir! Really enjoyed listening to this. Vocals were fantastic and love the guitar solo.
Rocktasticalacious!
ON!
You fat bottomed... do this without your brother. >:(
I must confess you managed alone. :D
Love it.

Quick and dirty - I knew it'd be good and I wasn't disappointed.
Fabulous
Excellent cover - great stuff.

Now I feel dirty too....great party feel you got going on here....great cover....
Ha ha! Fantastic.
Nearly put my speaker cones out when the track started.
This fits you very well indeed. Absolute class and quality. I actually prefer it to the Queen version. There's a nice dirty edge to this that fits the vibe of the song much better. Totally nailed, I'd say! And I love the compressed solo part - incredible playing!
;D
Works for me. Lovely vocals, huge power.
Yeh this is cool Geir ,like the guitar, good stuff,Braw as mr r would say ;D
Fine work Geir.......Fat Bottomed Girls always get cranked up when I hear it on the radio and I did the same here. You rocked it nicely!
Farrell
I was waiting for someone to dare cover Queen. You did it your own. Congratulations!
Wow! Not an easy one to pull of. Those opening harmonies are outrageously amazing!! Guitar solo is perfect.
Awesome song choice my friend!!
Nice, the backing vocals sound you got Axel Rose in to do them,..........uncanny!!
Thanx fofr the kind comments guys !!!

I realised I had not answered this. Well, no. I had to drop it a bit further than that ;D Some voices don't sound that high, but really are (Dio and Macca springs to mind). So I had to drop this down to A to be able to get some power at all behing the vox, ..... and to be able to have some harmonies above :)
Queen was an obvious choice for me for the 70s fest, as is a couple of others. I did not think I'd record so many ABBA tunes (https://songcrafters.org/forum/index.php?topic=17591.0)tho ;D
(yeah it's a bump-bait all right ;D ;D ;D )
Cool!
I was reading through while listening. And I was thinking - "that ain't no Drop D, not even convinced it's in D, this is lower than that (I sing it sometimes, only ever done it in D - and harmonies would be a stretch), and that's why it sounds dirtier"...
And there we have it from the horse's mouth - A! :D
Excellent version, sir :)
so many great contributions from you for the 70s fest! this one is sooo good!! really enjoyed your fab performance...guitar is outstanding too!
Great cover Geir and co . loved this to the core
thanks for the memories..anyone want to try
ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST /. LO.cheers NEIL .1
Oh yes ______ what a great cover , I'm lovin that vox , leave it alone , & yes fine guitar solo
A serious rocker. Massive over-driven guitars, cool vocals and I love the harmony.
Very well done, my friend.
One of my favourite Queen songs when I was young, excellent version, this is played and sung with great flair, well done.
Hell Yeah... love this song.... Not an easy one at all. This was one of those songs I always dreaded playing live. There are so many parts that are difficult to get through without causing a severe derailment. You've mastere'd it Geir. AWESOME.
Hi Geir, great version. I wouldn't even contemplate doing a Queen number, but you've recorded a little gem here. Top notch............Willie
