64 Guitars was kind enough to add the trademark flute part, I assume he used his new toy. Thank you sir, you do rock my friend!!!
Wikipedia has this as written and performed by Carl Douglas but composed and produced by Biddu, 1974. Had an hour around the house alone.
1 live uke/vocal (stereo track)
1 phaser uke
1 background grunts
Kung Fu Fighting
written by Carl Douglas & Biddu
performed by Hook & 64 Guitars
This was one of the first 45's I had brought for me, so it's always held special memories.
This is truly excellent Hook, the urgency of it all gives it extra oomph and energy, and as usual those Ukes are sounding wonderful.
Great job, Hook. I loved the grunts. And I hope you won't be offended, but the "oh-ho-ho-ho" bits at the beginning reminded me a little of the Trololo (http://youtu.be/2Z4m4lnjxkY) guy. :)
"Kung Fu Fighting" is such a disco classic that I just had to add this to DiscoFest even though it's officially over.
Bro, that put a big smile on my face.
Brilliantly done, now I won't be able to get that tune out of my head.
mmm, mm, m, foo-fighting, la-la-la, fast as lightning .....
;D ;D ;D

You're welcome, Hook. I started out learning the part on my new Akai keyboard controller. I was having a hard enough time playing it smoothly at the original song's tempo of 100 bpm, so I knew I'd never be able to keep up with your 132 bpm cover. So my plan was to play it at a slower tempo (90 bpm) and record that into a sequencer. Then I'd set the tempo of the sequencer to 132 bpm to bring it up to the correct speed. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to figure out how to record midi to any of my software sequencers. After trying with several different programs, I gave up and decided to just program the sequencer manually instead, using the piano roll editor in LMMS. Then I exported it to a WAV file, loaded it into Audacity, and spent some time trying to line it up properly. When I finally got it sounding reasonably in sync, I exported a WAV file and MP3 from Audacity.
I need to spend more time learning my midi software so I can record from the Akai to the sequencer. I've done it many times on my Yamaha keyboard, but it has its own built-in hardware sequencer, so I didn't have to learn any software. Recording midi from the Akai will be a lot more convenient for me than using the Yamaha, once I figure out how to do it.
64, I almost don't even understand any of that! :-[ I've never used sequencers before, my keyboard is a super cheap casio ctk-533 that someone gave me and I hardly use, but it sounds like you put in some effort and it sounds great and I really appreciated it!! I don't use click tracks anymore so I would imagine there are few inconsistencies with the tempo and that probably made it harder, so once again thank you, that was pleasant surprise as was the double banner 8)!
Tangled Wires- I'm glad i didn't ruin it for you!
Thanks guys & gals for listening!
Oh great addition 64 - I gotta get me one of those thingys, just as soon as I work out how to undo the locks on my guitar case :)
Brilliant cover!!! That put smile on my face, too! The flute additions by 64 is icing on the cake!! Agree with the "trololo" comparison :)

This one did indeed bring back the memories, and for the first time I can understand the lyrics.... :)
The flute part was brilliant, not the first clue how 64 did it, I'll just go with the thought he's a brilliant flute player.
Cheers
Ronnie
Great fun.
Grunt on!
