i saw elvis and the attraction around this time, was at a nightclub upstairs from the glasgow apollo cant recall the name of the venue but i was blown away, the following year they where back and played downstairs in the much larger apollo for their armed forces tour, again they where fabulous, but seeing them so close up in the smaller venue was different class
seeing this video today just brought back so many good memories, can't believe i had such good taste at the tender age of 18.

Amazing artist.
Probably my single largest influence. Never seen this and can't wait to have time to watch! I found Elvis Costello around the time of Blood & Chocolate and quickly had all his vinyl and was always waiting for the next one. Can't keep up with his prolific out put but still love everything he does. I saw him & Steve Nieve here on the North tour (great CD) and it blew my mind!!!!!!! He truly is one incredible performer/writer/talent. If you've never heard his cd The Juliette Letters with the Brodsky quartet you should & his stuff with Allen Toussaint & also Burt Bacharach is pretty darn good.
Thanks for this post!
saw him oan sky arts one the nite
wiz pish
Lol ,,,,,just seen this, say it as you see it jim ;D
rockpalast 78 was braw. but thing on sky arts. naw.....
You know, I was never a huge EC fan, but Watching The Detectives is a song that I love to bits. And I have hummed to myself the chorus of Allison(sic?) many, many times.
Great watch ORH that,s how I like to remember Elivs a cocky little shite with attitude. Watched that sky arts thing too bland, bland, bland, suppose we,ve all got to move on.
yup john exactly.
I love his guitar........jazzmaster.......P90's............lovely tone........
This is such a great performance, such a badass! what powerful onslaught of brilliantly witty, power pop punk!
To me he's one of those musicians that can almost do no wrong. I love his fearlessness as a musician and that's possibly his greatest influence on me. This is bringing all sorts of memories back for me, his tunes were very important to me growing up.
Rock On!
"Chelsea" at about 25:00 is awesome, followed by "Lipstick Vogue" . oh yea!
What a good time! Great show, thanks ORH!
