Here is my 1st recording with the Tascam DP-004. I plugged my acoustic guitar straight into the 004 and used the ps-02 as a microphone and plugged that in. There are no effects on the unit so the vocals were to dry through the on board mic. I used my 4 tracks then mixed & mastered right in the 004. Once in audacity I had to amplify and use the leveler, I'm not sure why I get so much less levels than when I use the 900? Anyhow, it's not hard to use, pretty intuitive, I dig it!

Nice recording Mr Hook , very nice indeed , you've captured a tasty acoustic tone there With the Tascam ,and considering the vocal was recorded dry ( which I hate doing , I need a little reverb ) its got a really great full sound , I'm lovin this recording

A very sweet job on this one! Lovely warm tone and depth to the recording, and the performance is just magic. I prefer it to The Bangles version!

Nice job but the question we all want answered is did you also record it whilst naked?
"Eternal Flame"...became another worldwide hit. Hoffs was actually naked when she recorded the song, after being convinced by Sigerson that Olivia Newton-John got her amazing performances by recording everything while naked. -Wikipedia-

Just to clarify facemask, I used the ps-02 on board mic with an effect, I'm with you I like to hear the effect on my voice while I record! I really like the effect but it really craps on your S's, I might try to figure out some pop screen, well see!

I haven't listened to the Bangles much but I usually like what I hear.
This is a very nice record Hook! The guitar is crisp and clear, well played. I particularly like the vocals - very, very well sung. Whatever the level differences are in your recording equipment, you worked them out beautifully. The balance and mix are spot on and, as I said, the vox is splendid.

I listened to most of the songs in GurlFest, and for me, this one was my favorite! The spoofy ones done by guys were very entertaining, but I really enjoyed the fact that you took this one seriously and pulled off a beautiful cover!
