i have never been a fan of any of pw's solo stuff, even tho i loved everything prior to him going out on his own.
however i love this, you get a great sound on the guitar and i am loving that vox. i much prefer this to pw's version.
maybe i should revisit his solo stuff.
Your acoustic skills always amaze me!! And I always love your vocals!! Never heard the original,,, but I don't need too! Yours shines!
PJ
I don't know the original either but this is a spectacular performance, I have a feeling any other recording would pale in comparison to this!
Rock on!
Cracking cover cover of Welller,s Wildwood, really stands up with the orginal, well played Robbie
Excellent performance and live recording. Love those vocals.
Rob, it's always a treat to hear you perform. Your voice is such a unique gift. The guitar work here is amazing.
Real nice job on this Rob...solid playing and your vox...man you have a good voice and know how to use it.
Well done!

Beautiful work, Rob. Very dynamic!
I don't know Paul Weller's original recording, but as mentioned previously it's probably not as good as yours!
Great version of this song - excellent vocals.
I don't know the original either, nor any of Weller's work for that matter. I suspect he was more popular in the UK than in North America. But I did enjoy this song. It's always a pleasure to hear your voice, Rob. Well done.
Yes, I'm a big fan of PW from the Jam to Style Council and then his solo stuff which is as good as anything.
You version is superb in every way, you've managed to get the big sound like he does on the original really full.
Vocals are superb as usual.
Loved it!!
Don`t know this song but gonna have to repeat all other comments and as per usual your
performance is stunningly good Rob.
You don`t need anything but that acoustic to make amazing music.
Thanks guys , this was a hard song for me to do , because my first wife loved Paul Weller's music , and in particular this song , she used to play it non stop just before we broke up ( 25 years down the pan ) I've only recently started to play it , so thanks for the comments , from both me and AK
Robbie Burns
Can't believe how many people have said they didn't know this song :o
I guess it's like someone earlier said, it must be a UK thing.
Good version. Vocals are more emotional than the PW version, plus you've put a different spin on the vocal mix. His is closer, where yours has more space.
Nice 8)
Just knew this would be top drawer. I like a lot of Weller's stuff, and have seen him live once in 2000.
Once of his best this, and hearing your version Rob gave me goosebumps, its fantastic and the feeling in the vocal is outstanding.
Would love to see you perform this live at an Open Mic.
Great song rob keep it up
Now worked out you have to download via a pc not iphone so iv started getting a good collection
steve
I've not been as much online lately as I normally am, so I missed this. After downloading it earlier today I've listened to it over and over again. Really a fantastic cover guys !! I'm a fan !
Rob this is a stunning LitLR, I absolutely love your voice! I missed this as well, but caught my eye...been some really fab tunes recently. I have never seen Mr Weller, but he is right up there as a songwriter and mastercraftsman, & I think he would have loved this
excellent

RB - a wonderfully-produced upload. I think the care that must have gone into assembling this shows in the final product.
Like some others, I too haven't heard the original, though I'm sure it was once in tab in Total Guitar??
But I can't see me rushing to find Mr Weller's version having heard this upload.
Well done. 8)
OTD bump... was about to get stuck into work when I spotted this in the 'on this day' jukebox, bloody wonderful! RIP Rob
Another good bump, I didnt realise how many i missed first time around,
Cheers Andy.
