I had to make a song about the city I was born and I actually live now, Lisbon, in Portugal, western tip of Europe.
This song is very well known and there are some terrific versions from crooners such as Carlos do Carmo and others. It is based on a poem by Ary dos Santos, and basically compares Lisbon with a woman. It is a love song for the city.
Typically the song is supposed to be a 'fado', a fast one, but with the same structure and it is supposed to be sung like one. I tried, I really did, but when I added the double bass, I couldn't drop the groove so I let it be. I decided do change it and add an organ and a guitar solo, a bit like those 50's-60's early pop bands. Oh, and I used a free VST called vinyl from Izotope.
Hope you enjoy!
Nevermind the bollocks, here's dasilvasings...
Does sound like one of those old vinyl records , good cover mate , well sung and played , i like that D/Bass , excellent vox also

Good song. I like that organ, and the bass. The vinyl effect is a good idea but I have to say that I find that repeating click a bit too jarring. I'd have preferred a more subtle vinyl effect. Just a few minor clicks and pops that add ambience without distracting from the music too much.
Thanks for the comments! I'll probably remix it later; I now agree that 'click' is a bit annoying! time... tempus fugit!
BTW, if someone wants to make a guitar solo to replace mine, please PM me.
