Title: City Fest - The only living boy in New York - Flash covers Paul & Art.

CityFest (banner image missing)

One of my favourites, which I dashed through. I'm not at all happy with it, but in the spirit of the Fests and the site....

I really love this song. I wish I could do it justice..

Edit - 64 Guitars commented that I hadn't trimmed or normalised the MP3, I've tidied up the file. It's the same mix.

yea flash, you did it right!!!! really an emotion hearing this one, cause S&G are the ones that enlighted me when I was just a child, with those kind of songs. Good as it can be to me!

Never heard this S&G song before, either - but I love the treatment you gave it, Mike! Excellent vocals and guitar, and a nicely spare and intimate-sounding recording.

I'm soaking this one right up - Love a strumming tune, and I could (And will) listen to it repeatedly. Sweet vocals, bro, it's awesome!!

Mmmmmmm yeah!!

Really enjoyed this with a cup of coffee, and just sorry it took over a year to hear it!

So nicely done, Mike. Clean, honest and wholesome. Fantastic.

Excellent bump Greeny!  Thank you.

Flash, this song is all about the vox and you nailed that.  Perfect wistfulness for the song.  Probably one of the most autobiographical he ever wrote.  SnG originally performed as 'Tom and Jerry' back when they were kids in NYC.  Artie was Tom.  Then it was time for him to fly off to Calif to do 'Carnal Knowledge'.  Lots of anger and sadness in the song.  I too grew up on early SnG - early emotional training and exploration.  It was great to hear it again and I think you definitely did it justice Flash!  DD

Abso-lutely brill. Nothing wrong with this cover at all. Well-worth the listeners' time-investment. Well done Flash.  8)
I've told my lot to play the S&G version at my funeral.
