Happy Monday one and all.
I've always liked the sound of an electric piano when it's used well. I was aiming for something a bit like the intro / verse for 'Goodbye Stranger' by Supertramp crossed with 'I'm not in Love' by 10CC, but it turned out like this, lol. Not surprising really, as I'm not a keyboard player :D
So... electric piano, jangly Danelectro, bass, vox & synth strings on the MBR. I added a touch of phaser in Audacity at the end.
Chorus lyrics:
What a carve up
what a liberty
we're shut in cages
when we should be free
out looking for some love and hope
and maybe if we nuture them they'll grow
into something
into anything
Happy monday indeed !
WOW ! this is a fab song Tim. Very nice arrangement with the piano and strings! And the way you weave the melody into the lovely chord-sequences is really amazing.
A great vocal performance makes this a new hit in my corner of the world !!!

what a lovely mellow start to monday morning, really loved your vocals and the floating feel to the arrangement
smashing song
andy
blissful.piepod bound. its a green monday indeed.
A sure fired Happy Monday when you have a new Greeny song to listen to....you definetly succeeded with the 10cc vibe...love it nice and dreamy....another great Greeny vocal....like the phasing at the end a nice finishing touch...throughly enjoyed........
I like the really nice mix of sounds. The synth parts add a lot of richness... bass and guitars keep it edgy. A very creative production, well arranged and played! Always a fun first listen with a new Greeny song to find out where you're going next.
This is massive!
The vocal is the seller for me on this one.
This track shimmers like a stream!
Now this is a real treat - a bit different than many of your songs, and yet with those same strong elements that always bring them together so well. I dig the electric piano, the synth strings, the bass, the electric guitar - the lot - and your vocals are the cherry on top!
Pure quality throughout, I may have to revive the Golden Willie Award for gems such as these...........Willie
Just another great song, always enjoy your tunes and this no different, great track!!
Really great song. Golden Willie for sure.
Really nice job Tim! I like the lyrics and I like the sound mix, both smooth and edgy, as Hooper said.
Your creativity always surprises and pleases me. You are one multi-talented individual.
Very good song. ;D ;D ;D
Tim, you score 10 Demons on this one! Excellent craftsmanship here.
Well Done!
The arpegiated clean guitar is fabulous. Nice.
Blooby
Amazing! How do you keep the originality and yet maintain that Green Stamp of Greatness?
Love Green Mondays..... Even if it's Tuesday (As it is here....).
Another really excellent song Tim
I am always amazed at the quality of the productions you create. You really know how the get the best out of the MBR.
thanks again,
Ian
wow what a listen ! beautiful singing, and the melody really breathe - as in other songs of your. I like the alternation of full sound surronding you, and more dry moments (into something, ... .) - give me a thrill ! great song...
very good work.
hi Greeny .........................FABULOUS. To me the best in my
opinion of your org songs. definately a 10 cc sound with the electric
piano. and a touch of supertramp. this one is a winner congrats NEIL !
It's great to hear someone so talented, pushing themselves.
From the piano playing to your vocal stylings, it's all sounds really fresh.
The arrangement has a nice flow and the production as always perfectly illuminates the song.
Keep pushing... Brother
Listening again. Greeny, you're amazing!
I'm catchin' this on a Sunday and it works real well, I think I'll put it in tomorrows mix just to get the full on Monday effect. Another great tune !!!
Rock on!

I was thinking the same thing, along with the tasty bass line. A mind carrying tune for sure. I drifted at least 42 miles!
Frickin' slick, Tim - I love it!
Wow Tim, what a floater of a song. This isn't one I'd listen to driving down the road, I'd be running stop signs, driving too slow, etc. This is however a song that I could listen to all night long when the mood is right.
Hey Tim I can without a doubt hear the Supertramp and 10CC vibe in this song.....you've hit your mark spot on! The electric piano and strings go well together but the jewel of the whole thing is the great melody you've come up with......nice, nice, nice songwriting!!!
