Was originally wanting to do a Todd Rundgren but there was just
no way to get it polished up enough for a live, one-take performance. :'(
Much simpler chords with this one. ;)
Waiting for Superman - Flaming Lips
when i saw the title i thought , no way is hooper gonna do the flaming lips song of the same name it must be another song with the same title..
but he has, bloody hell!
absolutely fabulous gaun yersel ken.
piepod bound.
and i know what you mean regarding mr rundgren,
I'm not familiar with any Flaming Lips songs but this is really wonderful! It's a real treat to hear a Live in the Living Room song featuring piano instead of the usual guitar. Well done.
excellent really enjoyed it .........
Love the recording Ken , the vocal is fab , and what can you say about the piano , i'm jealous

A good example of how hanging around here has broadened my musical horizons!
:D ;D :D ;D :D ;D
I was surprised by this choice, too! Great vocal delivery hooper, and I loved the Beatlesque piano.
Wow.
Ken naked. Now this is something special.
I`m not a Flaming lips fan at all but know this song and think yours is waay better version.
Excellent recording!
Sounds great. Beautifully played and sung. Hard to believe it's live! Big time talent.
I don't know the original, and I don't need to. This is top-notch, incredible work from a man of many, many talents. Superbly done my friend.
I'm not familiar with the original but this is outstanding.......good stuff man!
Farrell
This was so unexpected, ... and so fantastic !!
A man and his keys ... andhis voice ....
brilliant !!!
Dead good. Nice piano.
Paul
I always know I'm going to enjoy your stuff Ken. Like a few others, I've not heard of Flaming Lips. (great name). You did a fine job here. Thanks for this.
I think you played the Flaming Lips version for me once off the CD.
Needless to say, this is much better. Your performance level is so high, its just one of many reasons that your multi-dubbed recordings are so good.
Thanks for putting this up for download to my ipod.
Wow - Excellent performance Hoop! The piano was a great touch. We need more of that...
Mark
Stunning really. I don't know why, but I'm always pleasantly surprised by your posts Ken.

I'd go along with that. Beautiful stripped down performance that stands up wonderfully. being the kind of person who will spend over a week working on just one song, I'm always envious of this kind of "sit down, hit record & play" approach... superb talent!
good (re-)bump, James, I missed this before. And I'll just echo what's already been said, brilliant performance of a great song.
Thanks for bringing this one back James, it was nice to hear it again.
Still fantastic Ken.
yeah baby!
