Title: LITR - Biko pg cover by oldrottenhead
Post by: Oldrottenhead on September 02, 2011, 03:05:35 PM
moved the hamster cage out the living room, plugged the juno di into a spare set of pc speakers, hit a jazz drum loop (you can hear me hitting the drum button) and using the preset patch eden piano played some basic chords and sang. recorded via the mbr built in mic using the line in patch compressed dance (i think) live in the living room.

Oi Biko!
I like the edginess of the guitar version better. But both are very cool interpretations of a very cool song. Nice one James!

I'm with Tim. The guitar version is edgier and more dangerous. There's a lurking malevolence in the darkeness of the track.
Powerful stuff.

very beautiful. it is one of the few song that I like from P. Gabriel, you do it amazing good - you add a strong feeling to it in the jazz version - raising the 'suspension' of it with sparse and open comping and vocals

like'm both but prefer the guitar one, mostly because of the vox ;D
btw, you sound less like PG on this one than on some of your own ;)

wow, 3 versions, you obviously like this song Jim! also one of my favs by the great man..excellent album all said and done - and I liked them all - but have to agree with Tim and Flash that the guitar version is darker and has that edge that is more in keeping with such an horrific event. Excellent!
