Not so much the summer for me, just really busy with life. Have hardly been able to pick up a guitar in the last few months. The BR 800 is just collecting dust sadly. But always try to pop in here from time to time and hope to get back to some music soon......

Cheers,

Nigel

The trend is not positive:
https://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?action=stats

Altough more influx of new members, no more new posts than last year, and significantly down from 2009.

Busy with work unfortunately but just had my performance review for the year so may have a bit more time.

Oh, and it is winter here so the sun isn't the issue for me.

you had a performance review, and now you're going to have a bit more time? I have never had an employee say that, only former employees.

Ha.  No my annual review.  End of financial year is too busy for us so we do our annual review at beginning of august.  I even got a bonus this year so am going to buy a Fender Mustang and some other bits and bobs and pay some bills and fix my car.

Haven't hardly picked up a guitar in the last few months.

Did a jam with some friends a couple weeks ago that sparked my interest though, so hopefully will post some new music soon.

That's the way it  works up here in AK... don't want to waste any precious sunshine... even though I do waste away 45 hours of it a week locked up in a office. Got some stuff in the works though.

I'm fairly new to this site but I've been pretty active because I like it here. Having not seen the numbers first, I would say this place has a lot of activity, posts, and general involvement from it's members. I've belonged or belong to other similar music sites with greater membership but with a lot less reviewing activity.  I could post a greater amount of songs I have but I don't want to take up more than my share of the space, especially since I'm new to the site and I don't want to be pushy.

As has been mentioned, I think it's the summer season that has distracted some from songwriting. I see the same at other sites. I know my studio time has been taken up by my wife's 3 month summer vacation and with the grand kids visiting a lot. Well she went back to work this past Monday and I find my place quiet again. So, the song ideas and urge to fire up the studio is getting stronger.

thats good news for all of us.

My summer has been damn busy since getting our Lab puppy 3 weeks ago and even before that.  I am lucky to even get 15 minutes to play guitar every other day it seems.  No time to begin the process of contemplating a new song.  Once I get back into music mode it is going to be a flood thats for sure...........

I too noticed things have slowed down a little. Its almost 5 months since my first musical post, can't beleive it gone that quick. I have spent a large number of weekends converting my shed into a mini studio and it ALMOST finished, hoping to have it useable tomorrow. Can't wait to have something new to post soon............................................................. ;)

Hmm...maybe off topic...It's not summer. But, I'm wondering that the site has been quite silent lately. I think I'm right: https://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?action=stats

Right now, we are on "speed" of (approximately) 2250 post in this month. For example last year it was 3411 posts and in 2011 4583 messages in March...

Maybe I'm wrong and the most active commentators are just on winter holiday ;).

i thought it was pretty quiet too, but i have been quiet with man flu, but as the specials said
"this town turning like a ghost town".

It is a bit quieter than usual but I'm sure it will pick up eventually. I think it's just a matter of life getting in the way for a few of our regular members. If you look at the Top 10 posters on the stats page, three have not posted a single message this year and one has posted only 2 messages. But sooner or later, they'll probably resume their usual posting habits. And/or other members will join and start posting. So I'm not worried about it. I'm sure it's just temporary.

Man flu is my excuse too, my plan is to get back in the shed next week and start listening to posts right now!!

I have noticed we dont have as many discussions - maybe we could start a weekly discussion thread on anything music related, get the grey matter moving??

I haven't gone as far as to think of an idea tho ;D

I'm not around because I'm too busy but right now I have no computer. It fried but luckily I saved everything to a separate drive. I'm not going to buy a new one till I get a good deal so I have no idea when I'll be back. I had an original  song I wanted to finish up and post too. Anyways I'll lurk, listen, and comment on my phone when i can,but I really have problems commenting on this little damn screen of a phone, so until then, happy song making everyone!

Busy, busy and busy.........I just can't seem to find the time to record anything at the moment, and what spare time I manage to squeeze in is dedicated to playing my main acoustic.  When I have limited time I tend to go for playing the acoustic, as opposed to going on the computer, or watching TV, or anything else that may come up, the only break from the crap lately is zoning out on my acoustic for 1/2 hour whenever I can.  But, have no fear, I will be back to listening and commenting and with some wicked good acoustic songs, I just have a feeling.............I have a dream..............
