Let's see 'em :)
I've always liked this one. A bit of an oldie, but it was repeated in the seventies. Reminds me of school holidays, lol. I've also seen Echo & Bunnymen use this as their 'entrance' song a couple of times when they play live.

And this is both one of my favourite songs and my funeral song (sorry to be so morbid, lol). It also has a special connection with my girlfriend. If you leave a comment on this video, Jackie Lee herself will reply!

I remember that Andy Pandy song too!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHNCOqWX6HcI love anything by Eric Idle.
And this show is my favourite comedy ever.
Six Million Dollar Man theme!
I've never seen / heard that Mulberry one! Great theme tune though!
This is where the 'Freedom for Tooting' caption under my pic comes from (he has it on his tee shirt in later episodes)...

Speaking of One Foot in the Grave, do you remember the episode when he took his car in for service and the mechanics recorded this song over one of his cassettes?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fj2CPMqhPiEThere's a bloke we can't stand any longer
Always on the bleedin' moan.
Every time we mend his bloody Honda,
He starts groaning on the phone.
First, we fixed his car's ignition,
Checked his brakes and clutch and then-
Overhauled his whole transmission.
He just brought it back again.
Chorus:
Victor Meldrew, Victor Meldrew
He can stick it up his bum....up his bum.
He can bugger off 'till kingdom come.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
This is a stunner and a real slow burner and it was an incredibly good TV series too. Stephen Rea as the character 'Gatehouse' was one of the scariest and best performances probably since Dennis as Frank in Blue Velvet...

That Meldrew song is priceless!
I posted this one in another topic recently.

I get a lot of Canadians in my taxi and there are also a few around 'cos of the links with the fishing industry (whats left of it).The port of Newlyn flies the Canadian flag alongside the Cornish flag (white cross on a black background). From what I see here and from talking to the Canadian's I pick up, are you all Anglophiles? You seem to know so much of our popular culture, especially TV. I understand a lot of it is broadcast in Canada. And sadly, I can't think of a single Canadian TV show!!

Not familiar with the show but that's a great theme song. The vocals are excellent and I love those drums.
Probably the earliest TV theme song I remember, and a long time favorite:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsMqMz6fcvUBut there are dozens that I remember...I watched a lot of American TV as a kid, both first-run and re-runs, in the late Sixties through the Seventies.

There are a lot of British TV shows on the public broadcasting stations, both in Canada and from the USA. I've always loved British TV. In my opinion, most Canadian TV is boring. Off the top of my head, I can't think of a single Canadian TV show that I really enjoyed, though I'm sure there must have been a few. American TV is generally better than Canadian TV and there have been several shows that I liked (a current favourite is the sitcom "The Big Bang Theory". I must post that show's theme by the Bare Naked Ladies). But neither Canadian TV nor American TV can hold a candle to British TV in my opinion. I love it!
One thing I will say about the Canadian TV scene is that a lot of popular American shows are produced in Canada. It's just that the Canadian networks don't pick them up and the American networks do.
I don't particularly enjoy this, but I absolutely love Ted Lange's double-finger point at around the 1:25 mark. Makes me smile every time.

Batman was a good one. And Love Boat, from a nostalgia point of view. Many of us remember these themes from our childhood.
Here's another great one:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lli9ABUFZCUIt's called "The Fishin' Hole" and here's how it was originally written by Earle Hagen and Herbert Spencer, with lyrics written by Everett Sloane. Sung by Andy Griffith.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PVUit1-0Ck
Batman was always a fave of mine. And Barney Miller was one that always stuck in my head. We play this one in band practice, gets the smiles going!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ox-DmJ9H3ng
Loved Barney Miller - and who can forget that bassline!
No words to this one (that I know of), but the cuts to the beat (and especially the dancing hula girl) had a profound influence on young cuthbert:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AepyGm9Me6wAs an aside, it's amazing how many of these old 70s cop shows had brass as the main element in their themes.
Yes, I forgot about Hawaii Five O. Sweetness!
The opening theme from WKRP in Cincinnati isn't bad.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2drv0joKUcABut I just
love the closing theme!
The lyrics in this video are totally wrong. Nobody really knows what the true lyrics are. Whatever they are, it sure sounds good.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTlz1BqS8A0
As a young boy this kicked major ass and was easily the best part of the show.
A Canadian production, back when there were only 26 colour TVs in whole the country!

The Greatest American Hero (Believe it or not)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBKqwdxUH8UI loved the Seinfeld episode with George's answering machine message, based on The Greatest American Hero theme.

Love Get Smart!
Oh I. Couldn't find the one without the Colwey overdub, that makes it cheesy.
I agree with PeterP, true blood intro is awesome.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMrjy9ZDBxM
They dont make shows like this anymore...... ;)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fdzRnS3VuY
Here's a fave of mine from 1970. I used to love this show and the theme tune. I now realize what an influence music like this was on me!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNKgdo0s970The song is by Andy Brown of Status Quo. And it's brilliant!
If you want to get a sense of what it was like in the 70s, just watch this intro and clip from the show. I used to think it was the coolest thing ever, now everything just looks so cheesy! Mind you I was 13 in 1970.....

This show came out with a lot of publicity in the mid-late 70s here in Oz - it didn't last long as it was a complete turkey - and the song was a stinker as well - despite all this, all these years later I can sing all the words (to the first verse at least)...

Charmed
Theme song is "How Soon Is Now?" by Love Spit Love featuring singer Richard Butler, formerly of the Psychedelic Furs.
Written by The Smiths.

Had a crush-and-a-half on Wendy Padbury who stars in this (Would you believe she married the 'girly' one from 'It Ain't Half Hot Mum'?!'), and this is the theme toon from Freewheelers from the 1960s, including studio VTR clapperboard.

Oh the innocence of it all. The 1960s. Man in a Suitcase.

Well, GRY, yer first two posts are two of my favourites too. On the RobCru theme -
I bought the CD of this music a few years ago from Amazon...there's actually a website dedicated to this series if you have a chooch around the Net, it's quite informative.
I'm surprised cuthbert didn't post this one.
The Courtship of Eddie's Father
Theme song is "Best Friend" by Harry Nilsson.

You beat me to it. :)
Speaking of Harry Nilsson, he wrote quite a few songs for these fellas (but not this one, this was by Boyce & Hart) - the theme for The Monkees (this was their regular theme song, peppier than the pilot theme song Peter P posted earlier):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzA_qmJkmLYbtw, that's not the original video! Just the song. I think there was a Monkees remake? Pre-fab-Pre-fab Four! :D
And of course, their end credits theme ('For Pete's Sake'), written by Peter Tork:

A bit of a 12 bar but Maggie Bell delivers it rather well.

You picked my #1 choice Rob. The MASH theme is a classic. I heard that so many times, I actually taught myself how to play it on acoustic when I was a kid.
This is a close 2nd though ;D:
