I have to confess to mixed emotions here, I'm too damned young to be a grandfather, but when I was told recently that my daughter-in-law is pregnant, the mix of thoughts running through my mind was quite overwhelming, from the 'that's my boy' proud dad to 'oh bloody hell, they're 14000 miles away how will I get to see them' to 'bloody hell, they are 14000 miles away, that's going to cost me a fortune when Mrs Flash demands a grandparental visit every six weeks'.
Needless to say, after all the thoughts and concerns have given way to delight and excited anticipation, I can't wait to see the next generation of Fifes. It's a shame my parents weren't around to see it. They would have been just as thrilled.
Anyway. I'm glad I have got that off my chest.
Well congrats auld yin I sure you and you mrs will be so proud, nothing like a baby to make everyone so happy.

Zimmerframe for your 50th then?
But seriously! You are a lucky man to have grandkids so young!
Congratulations! :)
Well sir, I just became a first-time grandfather myself, and I've got to say ... its great! A real game changer actually. My daughter and her husband live on the other side of the country from me and its expensive to make a visit, but very much worth the output. He's a great little guy, and its a good feeling to see the ol' genes passed along. Not only that, but my step son is a dedicated and talented musician and I'm anxious to see my grandson's music develop as he grows older.
I stay in constant contact with them through telephone and email and have bunches of photos of little Max and his folks to show off to friends, etc.
All in all, a great development for you Mike!
Congrats !!
I know you'll be a great grandfather Mike, even from a distance.
All the best to you and your family Grandad Mike

You F*&!ers!
Congrats, granpappy!!
Good luck Mike, and while you feel too young to be a grandfather take comfort in the fact that when a woman told you she was "with child" your gut reaction wasn't "Is it mine?". Being a grandpa ain't so bad now is it?
Congrats my friend.
