Okay we had bassists and guitarists but how about drummers?
I purposely titled this thread "favourite" instead of "best" as I'm sure we all have different tastes.

Good call! This is a drummer that does exactly what I tell him! His only downside is that he can only play in 4/4... lol

I've played with some real drummers who can't seem to manage this bit :D
Anyway, I'd like to add my voice to the Barrymore Barlow club...
I like the bloke in Ocean Colour Scene as well. I remember seeing a Paul Weller gig on the telly with the original OCS band as a backing group - stunning rhythm section.
And then also the usual suspects for an old rocker like me: Ian Paice, Mr Bonham, etc...
OMG Paul, he is incredible!!!
I never heard of him before....

She is pretty badass on almost anything you can beat with a stick!

OK... woe!
I don't know how I managed to commit such a drastically neglectful oversight...

It almost makes me weep that this thread has hit three pages without a single mention of Gavin Harrison, my favourite drummer.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzFfNk4xGTEShowing a few more chops.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKCIUpW3q9sHe is currently the drummer for both Porcupine Tree and King Crimson.

Good call, I have always been a fan of Meg's impressive "kit" ;)
This has already been posted on the site previously, by my vote is for this dude...

How about Brian "Brain" Mantia. He's drummed with Primus, Buckethead and Tom Waits!
Great feel...that's what a go for in a drummer.

He's fast but completely void of groove and feel...he's a soloist - a drum wanker. I wouldn't want to jam with him. I think he should add a few more drums to his kit. Yes, that would impress me! ;)

Now that's feel and groove and I'd jam with him in a second...cool!
McLaughlin, however, tends to wank a bit.
The only good drummer is a dead drummer. ;)

Ringo Starr

I just want to bring an other point of view on drumming and drummers...
The drummer is Matt Johnson. He used to played with Jeff Buckley, and on this live session with Angus and Julia Stone, he plays... on his laps...
and it is perfect. A sober but fine drumming...

Pat Mastelotto. Simply stunning.
This kid is now in his mid 20's... was a prodigy all the way. He's played with the best... He's been doing things at age 12 I could only imagine doing. My hat is off.

BB sorry didn't realize you had already posted that one... anyhow.... yes. I feel the same. I can remember as a kid I used to be glued to the TV whenever Buddy Rich would play on the Carson Show. I loved watching him. Such a great talent and he made it look soooo easy. Krupa is no slouch either.
I can`t believe no one mentioned Dave Weckl i think. He rules!

Not a Def Leppard fan but Rick Allen is single handedly the best drummer in the world! ;)
Kudos to him to keep going after his accident.

Either way, I wouldn't mind have some of that luck! :) ;D :D
My new fav drummer... Hanna Ford... Not just another pretty face. One of the few I've seen play with emotion as well as technique and skill. The pretty face doesn't hurt for sure. This young lady has a really bright future.
