Broken links (a quest for the masterbumping description)

I was gonna do some masterbumping and (yeah I'll come back to that) didn't remember the right protocol

so I was looking for Ted's excellent description on how to do it. I was sure it was in the Songcrafters.org Glossary and after reading through it all (it's a great read, but wasn't really what I had planned to do), I still couldn't find it. I did however find a link to it : Masterbumping .... right ... it doesnt work. I was then hoping that the
solution was to exchange "bossbr.net" with "songcrafters.org" .... it's not.

ok, my point is: Is it possible to get the links updated with some scripting done by one of you admins, or do we have to live with the broken links until we manually fix them ourselves?

btw Ted, you should post that masterbumping description in the glossary as well ... then maybe next time I'll find it

I had been updating the links manually several months ago but I didn't finish the job. There are currently 868 occurrences of "http://bossbr.net" and 1,703 occurrences of "http://microrecorders.org" in the message database. Most of these are redundant links to attached MP3s using the obsolete [mp3] [/mp3] tags which were required in the early months of the site before Pedro made the player automatic for MP3 attachments. These links are disabled in the message and can be removed. I'm reluctant to use a script to update the links because an error in the script could seriously mess up the entire database. So I'll continue to manually update links when I have time.

Meanwhile, the simple substitution of "songcrafters.org" for "microrecorders.org" or "bossbr.net" should work in most cases.
