Scorpios

I heard a track from this guy on the remake of Dawn of the Dead movie for "Get Down with the Sickness"  a song by Disturbed, and a band I never liked... looked it up, and I don't know, maybe some people are familiar with Richard Cheese, he basically does known songs in a swing/lounge style with kick ass musicians and a good voice... a bit of comedy of course.

Anyway, just youtube Richard Cheese and hear some known tracks like, Welcome to The Jungle, Pour Some Sugar on Me, Beat it, rape Me, etc etc... good musicians too.

There was an Australian guy who used to do this kind of thing in the UK about ten years ago or so, very funny like this guy. Can't remember his name though.

Cheers,

Nigel

But of course Canada's SCTV (Rick Moranis as Tom Monroe) predates them all.

Do you mean Frank Bennett? He's from Australia and sings punk and pop songs on 'crooner' style. I've got two albums from him. Cash Landing and Five o'clock shadow. There isn't many vids on Youtube, but here's one - a cover version of L7's Pretend we're dead:

Richard Cheese is another fav to me from this genre. He puts a bit humour on these cover versions. Here's the version of System of a Down: Chop Suey

I never thought I'd be watching a youtube video of Dick Cheese. I recommend that you don't check the urban dictionary for that term..... You're doing it aren't you?
