chopped capo and fries please

been having fun attacking my capos with stanley knife and hacksaw, well there was nothing good on tv ! i cut the kyser so that it now only covers A D and G strings. when placed at the second fret it gives a dadgad effect although a tone higher. you can still play with conventional chords and it does give some rather unexpected and pleasing results. try it ! good fun to be had.

Or, if you don't want to destroy a perfectly good capo, you can buy a partial capo instead.

Very interesting. I'm working on a couple of songs in DADGAD at the moment. Or, at least, I'm learning how to use the tuning for them. It's taken two weeks of working out, learning, and practicing so far... and I'm still not ready to turn the BR on yet!

So a partial capo giving me "EBEABE" would mean all this hard-earned knowledge and muscle-memory wouldn't go to waste when I've finished... Wouldn't help on the main song though - I'd never be able to sing it in E!

great ! just when i thought i was on to something it seems the world turns up with its ''been there done that'' t-shirt on ;-) i do like the look of that spiky one though, if i get tired of playing i can use it as a club with nails in it (simpsons style) sorry rambling there. really though think i may have to get one of the spider ones. thanks 64.
