Jimi Hendrix was born 68 years ago today. He is by far my favourite musician ever. I wish he hadn't left us at such a young age (27). Just imagine what he could do with today's technology.

Great clips, 64G! I hadn't seen those last two before.

And Happy Birthday to Jimi - a light-years-ahead game-changer for electric guitar playing and rock music.

Damn-it Jimmi, why did you have to leave us so early.  40 freaking years since you died and people are still trying to figure out what the hell you were doing on that guitar, and still not getting it.  Damn shame.

I tried playing a left-handed guitar flipped around once and it didn't go so well.
I'm not left-handed but I doubt that made a difference.

Imagine, it would have been incredible!

I still can't get over 'the wind cries Mary'

Yeah BB, and I'll bet after another 40 years we still don't get
it right!
Happy birthday Jimi! You were the one who inspired me to
Rock Blues and guitar.
He was and will always be one of a kind!!!!

Watch this version of the Lulu show one, especially from 7:40 where they switch (on a live show) to playing "Sunshine of your love". I watched this live on UK tv as it happened, an absolutley awesome moment.

Even if you could get the sound you won't get Mitch along with you to enhance every subtlety of your playing- real-time. DAMN, what a drummer.
