I Believe In Angels - Song A Week 2010 - 30

I've been listening to Susan Cowsill the past few weeks. She's pretty darn good. This kind of came from that influence I think. A special thanks to the singer/guitarist of the Bottle Rockets, Brian Henneman, for introducing me to her stuff via youtube videos. He shared the stage with her and his lovely wife, Janet, shared the videos which turned out to be a treat.

The demo itself is pretty rough with some wrong lyric singing etc, but a few minutes in Reaper with some plug-ins did a good job of improving it. Guitar and Vox both done on the BR900.

I believe in angels
As I life my life of sin
As all this trouble
Keeps on sinking in
I need an angel

My mother raised me in a small town
Where they say the good life can be found
She would go to work
To give us what we had
She is my Angel

I believe in angels
As I life my life of sin
As all this trouble
Keeps on sinking in
I need an angel

I met a girl down at the Taco Bell
Where love is found you can never tell
We fall in love
Time and time again
She is my Angel

I believe in angels
As I live my life of sin
As all this trouble
Keeps on sinking in
I need an angel

I've got two girls that I call my own
Two sneakier kids you have never known
They smile so sweet
As I pull out my hair
They are my angels

I believe in Angels
As I live my life of sin
As all this trouble
Keeps on sinking in
I need an angel

I thought you did very well with this. Has a nice personal touch I'm assuming?

Anyway, I cannot believe you have 30 behind your belt already. I've been trying really hard and think I've only written 17 so far this year. So hats off to you, bro!

Yes. This is a factual song. No changing facts to make it work. Thanks much. 30 is cool. Can't wait for 52 so I can go on to the next challenge.

Love the words but the player doesn't work for me. Any chance you can embed the song in the normal way?

Cheers,

Nigel

This is beautiful. What a melody! The guitar and vocals both sound so clear and clean. One of your best in my opinion. Excellent lyrics too, as the only angels I believe in are the ones here on earth. The non-imaginary ones who can touch you and be touched. Fantastic stuff.

Well on your way to your 52, your challenge has produced a lot of really good songs and this is one of your best, guitar and vox are excellent.
As you,ve said in your song all the important people are angels, helping us along the way.

Just for you, Nigel. There are drawbacks to using the Reverb player. But it saves space.
