I've contributed with some other songwriters on an E-Book. Tom Slatter was the genius behind the idea and did all the heavy lifting. His songwriting blog is here: http://www.songwright.co.uk/

Supposedly there is a 10 tips volume 2 e-book in the works as well. I submitted, but I believe there were less submissions than last time. I'll do a check up on it.

Ok, I admit it, i love lists, numbers and stats, what can i do about? Own 500 best albums, 1000 best songs, 1500 songs that changed your life, best selling lists, super recipe songwriting books, etc...
So I want to thank very much T.C. Elliot for this wonderful reading: I trust all of them. I didn't resist to sum up, and counted how many say more or less same things (I simplified more than a bit). Here's the tip list hit parade, lol (I like the last one, think i will do sooner or later)

   Entries (tot=180)
16%   18   study everything: theory, form, music, instrument
14%   16   be always writing songs!
14%   16   try to write in different ways (different instrument works, also)
9%   10   gather life experiences as inputs
9%   10   collaborate with other musicians
7%   8   develop critic sense (or gather feedbacks) for your songs
7%   8   play only if you are moved by your song (if you have fun, or you have urge to it)
7%   8   keep song short and simple
4%   5   dont be afraid to edit your song (or delete)
4%   5   record any idea wherever you are, whenever it comes
3%   4   write 'vague' so anyone can identify with the story
3%   4   find out the theme behind the story
2%   2   be original
1%   1   drink whiskey, sometimes
   115

yes, 180-115= mmmm ... 65 entries either I didn't understand them or they were not similar to one of these common sentences.
