Definitely spawned by laziness and having quality alone time! All hastily multitracked, but I would like to record this again later.

One guitar track fake doubled.
Two separate vocal tracks that don't quite match up!  :D

This was kind of fun. I felt the "loserness" in it!

Peace,

Mark

Swill A Beer

I sit in this summer heat
In borderline obscurity
The part of me that wants to reach out
Has packed up and gone

No one can see through my window
It's covered with a filthy sheet

No friends visit or call on me

Chorus

Run my fingers through my hair
Take a deep breath of this hot dusty air
Then swill a beer
Sit back in my chair

The sun comes down again
With overbearing certainty
Leaving me deep in thought
As darkness falls in

I don't want to ponder the questions
That most people have

Chorus

Ahhhhhhhhh
Oooooooh

Chorus

Do you think it's safe to go out
Do you think the coast is clear
Is there someone waiting in the shadows
To swallow my fear

Better not take a chance
Better play it safe

Chorus

I really like the vocals... I love the double track feel to it and the nice relaxed delivery. Very good.

Nice one Mark, the thing that won it over for me was the chorus, that is a very cool creative sound that totally takes the song into the stratosphere.  I like Thareks quote above, that sums it up nicely.  When haven't all of us felt like this at one time or another.  This is what is so appealing about your songs Mark, you are telling truth with your songs, no fancy pants poetry that doesn't really say anything, you say more with your 3 minute song that some will say in a whole album.  Thats what I like, you are wide open in your songs.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places
