You may be new here Gene, but you're clearly not new to music. Welcome aboard.

You've got some great posts here.

Cheers

Thank you for the kind words. I'm pleased to be here.
Wiley sent me the link. This makes my day.

I do have one question; is it possible to increase the maximum size of uploaded MP3 files
to, say, 8 megs?

I have a lot of music files I can contribute but nearly all of them were recorded at a high
bit rate (32 bit, I think) and they run from 4 to 14 megs in size, with most of them between 4 and 8 megs.
I'm not sure how long it would take to squish them all down to under 5 megs.
I will try to reduce a few immediately.

Hello Geir,
Thanks for checking out my music.

To answer your questions on the creation of Dead On Arrival,

I played two tracks of guitar, using amp modeling on my eBand.
The Marshall JCM120 with the gain at 40 percent and tone controls
at 50 percent. The keyboard track was actually created on an
iPod Touch. The sound effects were added on a computer, using
Adobe Audition 3.0 software.

The final recording was done on an eBand JS-8 (Boss).

As we grow older the toys get more expensive.

Feel free to send my music to your friends. Who knows what awesome
tracks might get added to it.

Rock on!

Gene. We recently increased the limit from 5MB to 6MB. I doubt that we'll be increasing it any more than that in the near future. What I suggest you do instead is get some web space somewhere and store your larger files there. Then, instead of attaching your song to your message, you can link to it using the [singlemp3][/singlemp3] tags. This will result in the same MP3 player gadget that appears when you attach a song, but the file won't be taking space on our server.

For example, here's the URL of a song I have stored at weebly.com:

http://64guitars.weebly.com/uploads/3/9/7/9/3979195/dr64.mp3

If I wanted to include that song in a message here, I'd simply paste the URL between the [singlemp3][/singlemp3] tags like this:

[singlemp3]http://64guitars.weebly.com/uploads/3/9/7/9/3979195/dr64.mp3[/singlemp3]

When the message is posted, it looks like this:

Time:

Volume:

This particular song is extremely short so the file size is very small. But you could link in the same way to files of any size stored offsite.

Examples of sites where you can get some free storage are Fileden and weebly.com. At weebly.com, songs are limited to 5MB each with the free account. But you can get a premium account for a small fee which has a 100MB limit per file, with no limit on the number of files you can have.

Another option some people here use is to store your files at SoundClick. Then you can include them in your message with the [soundclick][/soundclick] tags. Simply insert the SoundClick song ID between the tags (see this message).

For example:

[soundclick]7300634[/soundclick]

... will result in:

[soundclick]7300634[/soundclick]

Everytime someone mentions creating tracks using a phone I feel myself falling further and further out of touch. lol   "And That's all I'm Gonna Say About That"
But the song is outrstanding...great guitar work and overall arrangement.
