Alex Chilton, RIP

Was just finishing up some stuff at work and ran across this terrible news. Alex Chilton was in the Box Tops, founded Big Star, and had a solo career as well as producing others. He wrote some great songs, and was one of the pioneers of the power pop genre.

that is really sad news, alex and his band big star where and still are a very influental band, they where never very succesful when they where a going concern but probably sold more records years after their demise i would compare them to the velvet underground in that respect
