This is my first song of 2010.  It's kind of silly, but it's all true.  The names have not been changed.

BTW: I realize I've been a forum slacker for a few months.  Haven't commented on much, and have listened to even less.  And now I have the gall to think the forum forgive my negligence and listen to this. Jerk.

That bass is tight as hell. The lyrics are awesome. The lead is whacked out, and so catchy. The production is fantastic. Very well done Ted. Your perspective is great, and you really are quite a wordsmith.

I ain't waiting on Jodie Foster anymore.
That was never gonna to happen anyway as we both know.
A couple years ago I heard an interview.
She said something really stupid; made me glad to be with you.
I'll only see her movies now if they get good reviews.
I ain't waiting on Jodie Foster anymore.

God came in between me and Colleen.
That was her contention, though I didn't see a thing.
I cringe now when I think back about all the years I clung.
I should have cut my losses when she aimed to be a nun.
In retrospect I really think that was my cue to run.
Yeah, God came in between me and Colleen.

I ain't got a crush on Erin anymore.
I went shopping with her husband in a big department store.
She'd taken up collecting Snowbabies figurines.
I looked at my buddy thinking, "Better him than me."
Then I looked in my heart at where that old flame used to be.
I ain't got a crush on Erin anymore.

I've gotta level with you about Jane.
'Cause she ripped me to pieces like no one can again.
The last time that I saw her it was like a battlefield
With an historic marker, but the battle seemed unreal.
Sittin' in a Starbuck's wondering what was the big deal.
So now I've leveled with you about Jane.

I ain't waiting on Jodie Foster anymore.
That was never gonna happen anyway as we both know.
A couple years ago I heard an interview.
She said something really stupid; made me glad to be with you.
And the fact that she's not into guys has got nothing to do with
Me not waiting on Jodie Foster anymore.

I'm not waiting on Jodie Foster anymore.

BTW: I have a short blog post about this song here.

Thanks, TW.  I originally was going to do this as a country song, but I had that guitar hook in my sketchbook for a long time and wanted to use it here only because it fit.

I love the guitar! I love this song....

I have a Vox practice amp that I'm thinking of selling.  I wanted to make use of the "auto-wah" effect while I still had it.

Ha, Very cool song Ted!!  Your voice sounds a bit like Neil Young to me ~ a friendly, easy-listening kinda voice!  Cool bass line & durty guitar :)  These are great lyrics Ted, really enjoyed listening!

Hmm Jody Foster, eh,  use to be one of my faves too, although I never went thru the trouble to stalk her...ha!
