I've just watched a rerun of Frasier this morning (I really ought to try harder to get a job) and the lyric on the end credit contains "tossed salad and scrambled eggs." Surely the good doctor wouldn't lower himself to crudities, would he?

OK, I too cannot bring myself to actually type them...you'll have to rely on your good friend Google with my caveat that if you're squeamish, too young (you know who you are!!), or easily offended - don't do it!

It seems like most of our "funny" expressions tend to describe either fictional (gawd, I hope they are) or otherwise, er, messy acts.

The more commonplace just don't often rate a laugh or a little whimsy over here - at least not in our slang.

That's kinda sad.

OK now, what's brown and sounds like a bell?
