First---apologies for not being on here and commenting much, it's just 'real life' and stuff getting in the way of important things!!! Will try to catch up a bit soon.

Second---these are just some of the strange characters I hang about with during the summer on the odd weekend ( some weekends can be VERY odd indeed ;D)

Sorry, no pics on the pc yet to post directly, I'm working on it.
I always say, if I can leave somebody happy and smiling at the end of the day-----I've completely f*cked up!!

Greeny

Living history! I've taken my son to various things like this. It's a great way to educate kids and give them a better understanding of British history. Nice one. And a lot of fun too, I'm sure.

Ferryman

Aah, I am a major history buff and have been to many historical reenactment shows. Have a friend who was a very serious Napoleonic reenactor, their kit costs a LOT of money. I'm with Greeny, they are excellent, great days out and important to keep history alive.

What period do you do?

Cheers,

Nigel

That looks like it would be a lot of fun!! And wow to see some of your great work!!  No wonder you are busy!

Migs--- I'd LOVE to see what the jousters do to you, calling them 'Jousting Sticks' ;D LOL
They're Lances. And no, I don't have one of those---or a horse. I don't have time to take part in the battles either, but do get to play with swords sometimes in the evening!!! I play with bows and arrows too!!
That's 'cos I'm sitting there doing this sort of thing, making stuff out of bits of wood:-

BB and Tim---- Yep, they're great fun, especially the evenings, that's when it's quite often sitting round a fire at night, with some strange characters, more than likely someone's got a guitar/drum/pipes or whatever---even better if one of my mates is there with his home brewed Cider!
Very educational too, I haven't got much of a clue about dates and stuff, but it's HOW people lived, as much as  WHEN that interests me.

Nigel---- I cover all periods, from Celt upwards, but my real favourites are Celt to Anglo Saxon/Viking. Yep, it can be a bit pricey, easier when you can make your own kit and stuff though.

Mike/PJ----Takes a lot to make me blush--cheers, you managed it :-[ :D

I wrote a song about re-enactors once that nearly got me beaten up with a broadsword  ;D Lot of fun I know. And your woodworking looks amazing!
