Hi,
I am learning the caged forms, and the stretching to make these chords is killing my hand.  Can someone offer some suggestions to make it less painful?  Thanks.

There's not much you can do really. It's just like working out. You are using muscles in your hands in a way that they are not used to yet. Only by continuing to practice will the pain subside as the muscles in your hands become stronger.

I almost quit many times due to this very thing when I first started back when I was 12 years old. Glad I kept going.

Good luck :)

Light strings help-but in the end you need finger strength as well.

I never heard of those before. Do you play in a cage? A dirty thing I'm not aware of?  :o :o

Don't be a matyr.  A little bit, very frequently, until your muscles get stronger.
