If the Beatles had continued...what modern band would sound like them?

That Elliott Smith song is really something else now isn't it.

Its a game...and I'll play too...Arcade Fire...My favorite band at the moment...Best album of 2010 in my opinion...The Suburbs...Montreal band...I have listened to this ablum more than any other this year...it is on constant rotation in my car....the imagination, recording, multi-instruments...deep song structures...yet simplicity....these guys are my new Beatles...damn fine band...best live band in the world right now...IMO....This is my pick for this little game of ours here...

I think if E.L.O. had stayed together they might sound like Arcade Fire...but the Beatles...really?

*Obviously there is no right or wrong answer...I'm just playing the devil's advocate here.

Oldrottenhead

i think if elo stayed together they might have sounded like dire straits

I liked Sloan in the beginning but they basically murdered themselves cause the geeky singers with the glasses were very egotistical and in doing their interviews they were complete dickheads and all the radio stations caught on and hardly played them anymore except alternative stations.

Sloan is a rock`n roll band and nothing else. Why would idiots label them any different.

Radio stations are like the News. Full of shit!!.. but that`s another topic of discussion.
