thanks for listening T.

recorded both the bass and guitar through my Line6 Tone Port.

Jaco was the bassist for Weather Report.

someone is quoted with saying "There was bass before Jaco and bass after Jaco".

thanks for the compliment T.

i can only dream of playing at Jaco's level, the man was a genius. hopefully i won't be pestered to an early death like Jaco was by the demons of his mind.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaco_Pastorius

i started playing bass less than a year ago when i got my Ibanez SR305 off eBay and was inspired by Jaco's story to pull out the frets.

my other inspiration is the late Wayman Tisdale who played the picolo bass.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wayman_Tisdale

i'm tuning my 5-string as a baritone bass (high C vs low D) using Thomastik-Infeld flat wounds.

thanks again.

This is really cool noodling. I had never heard of Jaco, so I'm glad you posted a vid. I didn't even know sound like this was possible from a bass.

Nice playing man.  I'm a big Weather Report fan and hear Jaco in your groove.  I can't believe people haven't heard of Jaco...No offence to anyone I myself gripe that there is so much music out there I know I'm missing out on tons of great stuff.

But Jaco... is a legend and you are right!! Bass has never been the same after Jaco, sadly Weather Report was never the same after he left.

Anyway you gave us a good taste of Jaco, but yours was fresh and experimental.

If people haven't heard Jaco Pastorius he's all over You tube.  And I think Flea has a nice tribute to him on there too.  I'll try and find it...It's a treat.
