Just think, though, you have all this time to work up a thirst!!

synths -effect pedal boards?-they are a bit more involved to be labeled a gadget arent they?

I've moved all of the non-gadget posts to their own topic:

Favourite music gear (other than your BR)

Feel free to add more posts about synths, effects, and other non-BR gear there.

Not that big a deal or anything... But how is an effect anything not a gadget? Traditionally, you plug a guitar into an amp and there you go. Adding anything to that could be considered a gadget. Especially when that "gadget" affects the sounds you are able to get.

I mean if a pick can be considered a "gadget" then surely a multi-effects pedal can.  ;D

I looked at several definitions of gadget on the intee-net. The common key words were:

Mechanical or Electronic
Small
Technological/Innovative
Novelty (Occasionally mentioned, but hell, life is a novelty!)  ;D

I was hoping to find the words unnecessary, unimportant or trivial, but no dice. According to Wikipedia (Which isn't entirely reliable - I correct spelling and content errors occasionally), a clock, bicycle or television would be considered an example of a gadget.

It appears that any musical device aside from a pick, tone block, drumstick, etc. could be considered a gadget. I don't agree, but that's what I'm gathering from the smart people of the world... :P

And then there's a gizmo...

Cool.  My stepdaughter has a DS.  I can sort of justify GAS attacks if it's "for the kids."  Well, it sort of worked for the Yamaha DD-55 digital drums.
