Insert images in a post?

Can someone tell me how to insert an image into a post?  I found the Insert Image icon, which places the word IMG in brackets, twice, in the body of the post.  What do you do next?  I've seen images here so I know its possible.  Any helpers?

Thanks.

There are two ways to add images to a post, depending on whether you want to upload the picture or link to a picture that already exists somewhere on the web.

If you want to upload a picture from your hard drive, click the Additional Options below the message editor, then click the Browse button to locate the image on your hard drive. The image will be attached to your message as a thumbnail, but readers can click the image to view it fullsize.

If you just want to link to a picture that already exists on the web, then right-click on the picture and select "Copy Image Location" (that's what it's called in Firefox - it probably has a different name in Internet Explorer). This puts the URL of the picture into the Windows clipboard. In your message, click the Insert Image icon (). It will insert a pair of BB Code tags into your message which look like this:

[img][/img]

Make sure the cursor is in the middle between the two brackets, then paste the URL from the clipboard. For example, if you right-click on the logo at the top of the Woodstock Jukebox page and copy the URL to the clipboard, then paste it between the [img] tags, it will look like this in your message:

If you want to see what the image will look like in your message before you actually post it (recommended), click the Preview button below the message editor. If your message doesn't quite look the way you wanted, you can edit it further to perfect it before posting.

For more on images, see this message:

And for more on using BB Codes in your messages, see this tutorial I created:

I plan to expand the tutorial to include images and other advanced message editing features in the near future.
