Ted

Do you ever just want to find the new music on this site (and not what anyone recently said about music added weeks ago or more)?

This isn't perfect, but here's a trick:

Click on any image to fullsizerize

It starts with the advanced search.

If you bookmark the results, you'll only have to do this once.

In the Advanced Search, set your search parameters like this:

Search for:  a e i o u
              (because every subject has at
least one vowel and you have to
              search for something.)
              -"Re:" eliminates any new
              responses to old posts.

Click on the image on the left to see a full-sized screen shot of how the search should look.
Match any words ensures that the
              subject of the post doesn't
              have to contain every
              vowel.

by user: an asterisk is a "wildcard"
              meaning you are searching for
              a post by any user.

Options: check "Search in topic
              subjects only"
This helps make sure that the
              parameters in "Search for"
              returns only new topics.

Message age: Between 0 and 1 days.
You can change this if you
want more days worth of results.

Search order: This is just a matter
              of preference.

Choose a board to search in, or search all.
Select only the "Post your MP3"
              and it's child boards

Click the Search button.

The results will look kind of funny, because every vowel is highlighted.  But it delivers what some of us look for every day--the new music.

If you want to bookmark this search to save you time, there is one more step...

The URL of these search results will not make a successful bookmark.

Click the "Search Results" link.  Your search results will look exactly the same, except now your URL will have all of the parameters needed to repeat the search without going through all of the previous steps.

It will be a very long URL, but one you can bookmark.

I'm pretty sure you can just Click Here and bookmark the results.
