Hey guys (and girls),

Guitar Center has a set of MXL (990 & 991) mics on sale for $79.00 in their August flyer. Looks like a good deal to me, but does anyone have these?

Do they work okay?

The internal mics on my BR600 don't work sometimes, so I am looking for backup.

TIA,

ironically, is was wondering the same thing-

i purchased a Studio Projects C1 about 2 yrs ago- cheap- sounds great, but you can never have  too many mics

good thing about guitar center is you can usually take stuff back within 30 days, but i dont think that applies to mics because hygenic reasons

I got these a while back but don't really feel qualified to comment on them.  I usually plink around on acoustics but record on electrics precisely because I don't have to dinker with microphones.

I can't recall if I have any tunes using them except for the one below.

They require phantom power.

Hope this helps.

Holy crap Blooby. If that is "plinkering" then I'd love to hear some of your "good" stuff.

That was a really nice melody and a great guitar sound. Thanks!
