Why, is there always, but, ALWAYS one Member 'Hidden'? Are the rest of us not good enough to associate with in some way? Does this Member have unsavory habits which preclude He/She mixing with other Humans/Musicians? Does this Member become un-hidden when seeking praise for their uploads? It is ODD behaviour. This is a Music Forum, not Hard-Core Pornography.  ???

Not always. I just looked a couple of minutes ago and there were just 7 Guests and 13 Users. No hidden (see attachment).

But I know what you mean. I have seen that (1 hidden) frequently. There's an option in your user profile that says "Show others your online status?". It's checked by default. I believe a hidden user is someone who unchecks that box for whatever reason. It just means they won't show up in the Who's Online page or the "Users active in past 15 minutes" section at the bottom of the home page. I don't think it's Admin because I've seen him listed in the Who's Online page and the "Users active" section on the home page.

Nobody can post without showing their username, so it's not a big deal. And it might not even be intentional. The member could have unchecked the "Show others your online status?" accidentally or without really understanding what it does.

I agree - Was just kidding around. I don't think it's him either because I've seen the username listed before, too.

Did not know that the average user had the ability to hide, though - Can't think of why anybody would want to ...

I used to admin a few forums and have myself on hidden always.  In the day, any member could uncheck the user ID box and have themselves as hidden as well.

Can be a good thing particularly since I think my boss may now be on the forum as well given that I made him buy a MBR and gave him the link.

Not sure what the deal is now. Could be Elvis.

I haven't seen too many 'hidden' people cruising the forum. Never done it myself, so I don't undertand the motivation or reason for doing it. Doesn't seem to be THAT sinister though - I mean, If you want to be anonymous or sneaky you'd be better off being a 'guest', or creating a false profile... *cough* lol

So your boss cant yell at you for being on the forums instead of working.  I had too many false IDs and usernames which need passwords so I only use 2 now.  Hidden would be handy evey now and again.

I must be immature because I laughed my ass off when I read this.

Woo, that was a knee-slapper (wiping away tears).
