The latest Greco & Green effort, this time with a guest star on piano.

I don't know what this chord progression is, but it sent my emotions haywire.

Certain towns I don't remember
Certain smiles I don't recall
We're just statues in the moonlight
We're just shadows on a wall

The train of tears is leaving now
From a station on the outskirts of your love

Wave it goodbye
You need to wave it goodbye

Time is always rearranging
Weaving baskets from the sun
Memories in chambers loaded
Like the bullets of a gun

The train of tears is leaving now
From a station on the outskirts of love

Wave it goodbye
You need to wave it goodbye

Wow!  Beautiful.  Stunning throughout. Marco can certainly tickle those ivories.

Ted

Lovely!

The piano playing reminds me a little of Steve Nieve, and that's a good thing.

That's a fantastic line.

I believe I've missed out on previous Greco & Green songs. Wait! I remember this:

So Tim, you wrote these lyrics based on what the music was speaking to you?

I really love the idea of waving goodbye to the train of tears.

I doubt I am qualified to speak about a song like this.

However I did enjoy it very much.

the playing, the recording, the details, the vocals... the lyrics.  I enjoyed it very much

Yep. It's a very different job / feeling adding words to music you didn't write. I let my imagination go where the music takes me - usually the spontaneous feeling or mood I get on first listen. As Max knows, I will often get a song title before the song ends!

Nice melodic content in this song and so well produced. That piano is the star but excellent lyrics. I'm not sure about the compression that SE mentions; my old ears are not able to pick up on such things anymore - too many years playing in rock bands without ear protection.
