Hi all, don't quite know where this came from but I thought I'd post it anyway. Hope you enjoy.  Willie

Guild Starfire, PRS SE Custom, Ibanez Bass, BR800 Drums.

I remember growing up and playing out in the yard
Skipping ropes and lollypops
Before our life became too hard
In our teens there were no toys
I went with girls and you went with boys
But then you moved away and we lost touch
And you enjoyed life far too much

And I can't help you now
You're too far gone
You took too much
You can't get back to where you were
And I can't help you now, I can't help you

I gotta letter in the mail
It said please help I'm in some jail
Got busted and there's no way out
But I will die if you don't help
I went to see what I could do
Paid your bail and got you out
Next I know you're turning tricks
To make some money for your next fix

And I can't help you now
You're too far gone
You took too much
You can't get back to where you were
And I can't help you now, I can't help you

Instrumental

And I can't help you now
You're too far gone
You took too much
Now the fun has gone
You can't get back to where you were
And I can't help you now, I can't help you

I gotta letter in the mail
It said please help me I'm in some jail
Got busted and there's no way out
But I will die if you don't help
I went to see what I could do
Paid your bail and got you free
Next I know you're turning tricks
To get some money for your next fix

And I can't help you now
You're too far gone
You took too much
You can't get back to where you were
And I can't help you now, I can't help you

I love the guitars as usual with your music... this one though seems to have a bit more pixie dust on it...

I have a number of your songs on my phone playlist... so what happens is when i get on the treadmill for an hour or so I have songs random play... when one of yours pops in I instantly get a smile of my face...

this one does that too.

nice.  warm... inviting... comforting.  thank you!

Another Willie Wonder! Guitars melt my soul with a theme that's relatable and well sung. Love that tone - chorus? flanger? both? Whatever you used really brings it home! 8)

Stephen... Did you listen to the lyrics? They're not very comforting :)

But yeah, hearing Gobi songs can be and this was no exception.

I enjoyed the darkish tale and great songwriting.

You never fail to deliver a full package of pleasing classic pop-rock! But this is even better than your usual, in my opinion. Enjoyed this quite a lot. Vocal and lead guitar are the highlights!  Carry on being smooth as hell!  I can't believe I just listened to 3 songs randomly in SC originals and all 3 are pro-level stuff of a style that is right up my alley.  Downloaded.

The way you extend the great-sounding drums at the end - perfect!  Love it!

Awww... love this song.

I wondered what you meant when you said "don't quite know where this came from", then the lyrics hit me. Love the title line on the chorus.

I'm not sure I believe you. This song sounds drawn from real life. It's the most affecting song I can remember from you.

It's similar in theme to 'King of Favors' from 2013. (You may recall. You commented.) That was written about someone in my life who did time for drugs. Although your song is much more empathetic.

Bravo!

Great sound you have and love the lyrics.

The Story sucked me right in, and the performance underneath was the perfect bed for it. You can have a melancholy in your voice at times, which really suited this tune.

I'm going to go take a couple showers now.

Willie, ya got your own style, Bro.  Love it!
