Here's another lovely song Keith wrote.

 Goodbye

Why...?   Why...?
I never meant to drive you crazy
I never meant to do you cruel
Mmmm I... I always said that I would save you
So I...I took you home

And every night when dark had fallen
You'd surround yourself with drunken fools
You never thought that I was one of them
That's why I...could take you home
That's why I...took you home

Is this the way that you should plead
Exercise your right to leave
After everything was said
I just left you hanging there...
Say: Goodbye...Goodbye...Goodbye

That little danger hides inside you
Some chemicals never will remove
All those special times, tried to give you
When I....I took you home
Ooooh...I...I took you home

Why...? Goodbye...Goodbye...Goodbye

I...I took you home
I...never got you home...never.

Farrell Jackson

A cool song and lyrics Darren and Keith. I like how it leans on a retro sound but it still sounds very fresh. The vocals are real good, especially those subtle backing vocals. The keys support the song and melody perfectly. This is one of those cases where if you removed the keys they would be missed immensely. A great mix to a great song!

Test, test, one, two, three.....is this mic on?

I agree with Farrell, a lovely song well mixed and excellently performed. I like the laid-back production that works so well here giving the song a kind of retro feel. You guys turn out fantastic tracks and always interesting music, whether vocally or those great soundscapes you do, Darren.

this reminds me of early Eagles stuff in every way except 1.  The keyboards make this substantially different.

A very nice warm and listenable track.  I really like the chourus? modulates.... brilliant work.

lovely track and excellent work on every front.  Lyrics, vocals, guitars, bass, drums, keys.
mix is excellent and production is very pro to my old ears.

This has a Bacharach-David feel to it. Classy, and well crafted.

It keeps its secrets too. I thought that there would be reveal a the end of the song, but nope. It's said all it's going to say. Which is a reason to come back and listen again for clues.

I get the 70s era Del Shannon vibe mixed with a maybe hint of Ricky Nelson. It's in the bridge where the song adds a more contemporary (+5 years) feel into the the brew.

The acoustic sounds lovely, the strings are heavenly. The vocals are so tender and soft. Backing vocals are also worth a mention.

Almost makes me want to do something proper. Almost.
