So this started with a riff. I liked the idea of trying to do something as a tribute to an endangered animal, and this is just such a lovely creature.

So...

2 guitars left and right (strat as usual)
Bass and drums (Garageband)
vocal
Spoken passage (Wikipedia snippets put through Free online Ai program)

You're up there on the mountains
But you don't want to be seen
You're living in the shadows
You're somewhere in between

Your world is getting smaller
And you need a place to hide
People are drawing nearer
As you race against the tide

You're hiding in the twilight
In the half light of our dreams
We look but we can't find you
You're nowhere to be seen

You're up there on the cliff tops
Looking at what's down below
Something moving in the distance
As you set out through snow

—————

This place it belongs to you
And all of your dynasty
You are the rightful owner
But this they cannot see

They say your days are numbered
But it's no fault of your own
Until that day arrives
This wilderness you roam

You're hiding in the twilight
In the half light of our dreams
We look but we can't find you
You're nowhere to be seen

You're up there on the cliff tops
Looking at what's down below
Something moving in the distance
As you set out through snow

(Spoken section)

You're hiding in the twilight
In the half light of our dreams
We look but we can't find you
You're nowhere to be seen

You're up there on the cliff tops
Looking at what's down below
Something moving in the distance
As you set out through snow

I was expecting something fun and cheesy, but this is certainly up to those high Mike standards.

It's hard to concentrate on the lyrics because the playing and great sounding vocals draw all the focus.

Great song.

Production on this track is ace, Mike. Love the sound you get with those guitars along with excellent expressive vocals. So many endangered animals one could do an entire double album as tributes. Needless to say, brilliant lyrics and that spoken section works perfectly.

This is performed, mixed and recorded so well Mike! There are a lot of animals that fit this theme and it's sad. The Snow Leopards have always intrigued me. Let's hope they survive. A great song!

Test, test, one, two, three.....is this mic on?

Snow Leopards love you and me Mike... they think we taste very good.  So I respectfully decline.

however as a song I love this... it has such an intense get out of my face attitude... there aren't that many I remember like this... Patti Smith... early Pretenders... dude... you kick major ass and you have no real comp... you are an entity ... a collection of all you have heard.

I know you put your time in... it shows.  I like the speaking parts...

what is this song about?

I think it's about mammals. Furious creatures with nipples.

i done my bit after seeing one of those adverts and adopted a elephant . not much room in my flat now and it was a bugger to get up the stairs.

cool song on a good subject, liked the voice over that was a nice touch, that works very well in the song . like the vocals too, almost punky which is cool

Great song Mike, those guitars and bass sound awesome.

I hear the passion in your voice, you clearly feel strongly, rightly.

And welcome to the fest

It's interesting how much of the work of the song is done by the chord sequence. Everything just drives along undynamically. The chord textures themselves provide the surprises in the song, and draw your attention to the lyrics. Nicely done.
