I GOTTA find out how you do those choked notes!!!

Not much too it really... It is just a grace note and slide...

Hit a note (n1), then hit note again (n1), then slide to desired next note (n2). Then...
Hit a note (n2), then hit note again (n2), then slide to desired next note (note 3).
And so on...

The "beat" that you slide will be determined by the beat of the music, or the feel you desire. Since you are hitting the next note fairly quickly, the notes do not get a chance to ring out giving it a staccato feel. That is why the note sound "cut off".
