Never had i heard about Battersea. Luckily with the power of google i'm a bit wiser now.

You're painting a vivid picture with the lyrics and performances. Some of the piano playing is a bit meandering in a positive way. It kinda adds to the "lonesome, feeling lost" -type of vibe. The vocal deliver is pure Reg (=awesome and moody).
