No, this is not autobiographical. My wife still loves me, and I her.

My dentist office plays a constant stream of country music. After cumulative hours of forced listening, I decided to take up the challenge.

I then brought lyrics and a vocal melody to Bruce and told him that I had written a country song. After a not too brief moment of apoplexy and some further coaxing (booze), Bruce agreed to take up the project. You have heard the product.

This was months ago. I've been seeking the lyrics for a few days to no avail. I finally retyped them to present to you here:

Honey, I'm moving out next week
I found a place down by the old mill creek
Nobody there knows me
They all look sad and lonely
It feels like the perfect place for me

Our king size bed ain't big enough
Lonely nights together are getting rough
I still get the yearning
So I'm tossing and turning
But I don't have the nerve to try to touch

We left each other years ago
But we still share a home
Going through the motions
Empty of emotion
Like spirits doomed to hover
Where they once had a lover

We were two peas in a pod
Have a whole conversation with a nod
Somehow we lost contact
We're strangers and that's a sad fact
Don't know when I've ever felt so lost

I know you don't love me anymore
When I ask myself how I feel I'm not sure
All our years together
I remember better
But now it's time for walking out the door

We left each other years ago
But we still share a home
Going through the motions
Empty of emotion
Like spirits doomed to hover
Where they once had a lover

(Phantom Piano Interlude)

We left each other years ago
But we still share a home
Going through the motions
Empty of emotion
Like spirits doomed to hover
Where they once had a lover

This came on earlier today and it was a minute or so before I realised it was actually you and Bruce. It just didn't compute. I knew the singer and was trying to place him and then it dawned on me.

This is a lot of fun, and that is a good thing. We need fun music as much as we need serious stuff too. Love the production... fine listen.

Sounds like the lyrics are from a man that knows good song and good luck

it ain't like I haven't heard southern in this duo before... they can't fool me!

but I dig all of what you do no matter what the influences.
