Thanks everone, had a great day, loads of pressies, Things worked out well, I have been in agony for over 4 months the doctor said Sciatica but after another month I went to a different doctor the first thing she done was send me for a scan which turned out to be arthritis in my spine but I also had a cysts which were causing pain on my sciatic nerve, she gave me Gabapenten tablets i had to take 12 tablets a day plus other tablets I was taking 26 tablets a day, the pain eased, eventually the pain stopped I had to go to my specialist who told me the cyst had drained I was now clear but I couldn't just stop taking my Gabapenten he said I sould have to ease off them bit by bit, he was right Me being a know all I stopped all together, the first night i woke feeling really crap so I got up and took some tablets, that sorted it. So just in time for my birthday I feel great what a long 4 months... Thanks again everyone.

Ouch I feel for you Alex. I had nerve damage on my spine and was on gabapentan too the full dose like you and it never touched the pain and boy did it make me gabby. Am glad to say I no longer medicate as physiotherapy really helped. That and yoga and stretching keeps the pain at bay.

Cheers, James, I've had some pains throughout my life but nothing like this I collapsed with the pain twice, and thought I was going to be sick a few times, so glad it's over and hope it never comes back

I'm really pleased that things are going better for you Alex, we all have to go through illness and when the pain is very intense (I had an emergency operation last Christmas night for a kidney stone ... pain that I rated at 9 out of 10 on the numerical pain intensity scale! 

When, by chance, the pain lessens and passes, you really get the impression of a resurection
