My retirement song that dream you have when it seems so far away and you don't that you'll ever get there but deep inside you believe you will and oh what a time you will have when you get there.......
One day my Plane is gonna come
I'm gonna go and surprise everyone
By jumping on that plane and taking my seat
Sing my song without missing a beat
Hey look at me
I'm being what I want to be
No more servitude for me
I'm free

I'm gonna go where I want to be

Roaming the world running free
Shaking that money tree for me
Its time that pension paid on up

Ive filled it with my blood sweat and tears
Now I got to get on that plane out of here
No more servitude for me

No more servitude for me
I'm gonna be living free
I'm gonna go where I want to be

Laying in the sun feeling that sand

Seeing the world taking my time
No more dirt and no more grime
It gonna be the good life for me

Roaming the world running free
Shaking that dust right offa me
It's gonna be time just for me
Sitting in a chair
Watch the clouds
Looking  at the sky and dream

Just taking time for me
Oh what pleasure its gonna be for me

I'm gonna jump on that plane
Forget all this strain
And enjoy my life being free
Being me

Break
One day my planes gonna come
I'm gonna go and surprise everyone
By jumping on that plane and taking my seat
Sing my song without missing a beat
Hey look at me
I'm being what I want to be
No more servitude for me
I'm free
I'm me
I'm free
To be who want to be
Who I am
Who I always was
but I had no time to be
But now I'm truly be me
Now I'm free

Seeing the world taking my time
No more dirt and no more grime
It gonna be the good life for me
I'm gonna jump on that plane
And forget all of this strain
And enjoy my life
being me
I'm gonna jump on that plane
Sing my song without missing a beat
no more working life for me
I'm free

Oh well ........

Cool track, Trev and a great idea lyrically. I remember dreaming about retirement and now I'm here I find it not as good as I thought it would be LOL. Stellar vocals along with the strumming guitar adds to the intensity of the track.

massive track Trev.... I love this... it has the potency of a Led Zep tune for me... really big..
the recording of the acoustic is fab!  Fab!!!!

lyrics and theme are so timely... especially here in the US of A where so many of the boomers are now retired...or very close...

for me...I mostly like staying home these days... as I have been there and done that...lol

great, great track Trev!

Great song Trev - I've been retired for 2 years now after making a hasty decision to retire 5 years earlier than I'd expected. No regrets.

You have an excellent live sounding dynamic in the strumming guitar, Trevor. It has the natural ups and downs that an acoustic guitar does so well in the hands of an experienced player. Great vocal and words. As Stephan mentioned, I also hear the intensity of a Led Zep acoustic styled song. As far as the retirement dream, I say do it as soon as you can because it requires a lot of youthful energy to keep up with that lifestyle, lol. A cool song!

Test, test, one, two, three.....is this mic on?

Nice work Trev, be warned, l've never been so busy since I retired at nearly 15 years ago.
Having said that, you'll be your own boss and it's up to you how you spend your time (and pension). Enjoyed the listen.     Willie

Those things we take for granted - when we're young and immature - will surely return to haunt us when we're old and insecure

Great tune and a great theme. God, retirement, it's a way off for me. I'd say another ten years or so unless Ai makes me unemployed which I think it might someday. But a very good song, love the passion and energy and you sing and play this song like a man who feels free.
