This has been in the making a while. Due to my long Covid I've spent a lot of time I bed. Sometimes I bring my mini midi-keyboard and my iPad with me and every instrument here has been played on that. Well except for the bass. That's iFretless bass played on the screen.

The tune is just a simple vamp over a Cminor chord progression and has 3 parts. One synth intro reusing an old melody I wrote about 40 years ago. Then an electric piano solo and lastly a Hammond solo.

To spice it up I've added some recordings of rain (from a day it really poured down), of me filling up my coffee mug and me drinking it. I also make some weird noises in the background here and there.

And yes, this is all done on the iPad. Gotta love the age we live in.......

Cheers

Oh well ........

That's a cool track and fun to listen to. (I've played it a good 5 or 6 times already!)I like the walking bass line, has a ska feeling and the synth intro reminds me a bit of the first track of the Stranglers' Ratticus Norvegicus album. It's fun to experiment and do something outside your usual comfort zone. Hope you get over your long Covid as soon as possible.

By the way, you asked what my new toy is....an Arturia Microfreak.

Cool.. very very cool Geir

Its like electronica Doors or even Floyd/Parsons prog stuff.
I especially like your creative recordings... the organ is a full on assault.
No fun being sick but thank for making this while laying down!

Those things we take for granted - when we're young and immature - will surely return to haunt us when we're old and insecure

The walking bass does it for me, I like that! The Hammond solo is quite a treat also. The whole song is cool Geir!

What a great enter to the fest! I like the atmosphere of this...can't describe, but some 60's vibe at a smokey night club. Sounds great!

I've been watching Star Trek (the original series). One of the episodes is called "Assignment Earth," which was intended to be a "backdoor pilot" for a spinoff TV show starring Robert Lansing and Teri Garr.

Quote from: http://www.orionpressfanzines.com/articles/assignment.htm
In the hands of this one man...
could rest the future of all mankind.
His name...Gary Seven...
born in the year 2319 A.D.
The only survivor of Earth's attempt
to send a man back through time to today.
Assignment...fight an enemy
who is already here, trying to destroy us.
If he fails...there'll be no tomorrow!

The show was never produced, but this song of yours should be the theme song.

P.S. A band called Five Year Mission wrote an unofficial theme song for the series. It's okay.
