One day three saints took that road out of town
Left the bewildered herd back there in the dust
Left that sacred, consecrated hallowed ground
Made that call between sympathy and disgust
Three saints riding.

True faith the domain of idealists
So many phoney leaders to follow
A thin line between the cynics and realists
Today's trends gone by tomorrow
Three saints riding.

Leaving this town behind
The milk-bars, the stores and the school
Hope and Charity mounted on sleek stallions, mind
Faith riding a drunken mule.

One day they'll go back to that old outback town
The lure of the past is sometimes strange
Maybe some beliefs have turned upside down
But there again maybe nothing's changed
Three saints riding.

Excellent all round sound.

A deep and slightly dark lyric riding a beautiful light melody. The contrast is haunting. I had to read back through the lyrics to make sure of what I was hearing.

Wow. I really like this.

TPB

Never disappoint vocals with the key work really set the song off

Me too. To me your lyrics and music share top billing here as they do on a lot of your tunes. Some very good lyrics, a real air of mystery, not quite sure what's happening but I want to know more! As usual some lovely chords and some surprises in there. Super.

I always look forward to your posts. They are so next level.

Beautiful chords and lyrics. Humbled.

Great space in this one. Really mature songwriting.

Beautiful tune.  Love the minimalistic approach with just the piano & vocal.
