One for the storyfest. I suppose autobiographical but i think probably universal too.
Anyway it is what it is.
He had a dream come true
On a rainy day
But it didn't last long
Afore it said so long
So he went faraway
To a different place
Tried to change his ways
Put on a different face
Searching for himself
If he only knew
He was searching for himself
But he didn't know
So he came back home
To the place he knew
Neither lost nor found
Put his roots back down
And then he found a girl
Who told him who he was
Who he could be
If only he'd believe
Searching for himself
If he only knew
He was searching for himself
But he didn't know
No he didn't know
No he didn't know
No he didn't know
No he didn't know
But he sound found out
Who he really was
When she showed him how
He could really see
He'd been searching for himself
Now he really knew
Searching for himself
Till he found himself

This was another highlight of my morning. By now i've understood the gentle charms of OldRottenHeads songwriting. He's all about building the mood and telling stories with depht. The song has poppy charms and is the kind of mood piece that works in the quiet setting.

The vocals really fit the song and the constantly evolving synth backing is great. If i was to nitpick then i'd say that for all the movement the mix sounds a bit flat. The song works perfectly as is and is possibly even easier to digest when handled like this...

Great song.

You layer your tunes in such an inviting manner. Sucks me right in.

Cool relatable lyrics (except I am still looking)

yes, because of the very laid back texture you have to engage into this or else skip it entirely... I found myself turning up the volume... nice tune and vocals and the lyrics tell an all too common theme... but one that resonates with so many of us.

Excellent feel and lyrics here. A bit 90s Gabriel-ish and excellent ambient guitar in the back. Your voice has such a presence.
